event DEFINITIONS & guidelines
The following guidelines are to be followed for all club events:
Social Events:Social events are events held within the city limits of Edmonton and do not involve anyone engaging in an outdoor activity such as hiking, running or climbing. Guests of members are permitted to attend social events, including family members and youth under the age of 18 years old. Social events include the following type of events:
Outdoor Trip Event:Outdoor trip events are events held inside or outside the city limits of Edmonton. These events typically include more physical activity than social events and requires trip participants to sign and agree to a waiver. Guests and family of members are not permitted on outdoor trip events unless they are a member of the club. Outdoor trip events include the following type of events:
Occasionally the club may host an Outdoor Trip Event for its members as a "social event" where guests and/or family of members are permitted to attend. These events will note this permission in the event description and will require all guests and/or family of members to sign the waiver prior to participation. Examples of these types of events are:
Please review the Trip Difficulty Categories to understand/assign the appropriate category to your event. Please note - food and drinks are not provided by the club during outdoor trip events. |
